Please evaluate the new features we are thinking of introducing for you

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for joining and supporting tMC. At present we are working to see that we can offer you better, value adding features & interactions. Hence I wanted to personally ask you for any feedback/suggestions that you may have after using tMC.

In addition to help us figure out the best features to introduce, it would be great if you could take the following survey (that shouldn't take more than 3 mins).
Current College Students: http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB226GE6GNNXT
Applicants: http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB226GNL2TTJK

Please try to complete this by Tuesday as we would like to get something out for you by the end of the coming week. Do also try tMC's mini-blog if you haven't already done so and let us know what you think.

Thanks a lot and cheers!

Decisions made? TMC can still help!

The last couple weeks have been pretty busy, with midterms and homework shackling our lives. For now, we have broken out of them, and have been monitoring and improving tMC.

By now, decisions have been made, but unless you live only ten minutes away from your school, it’s hard preparing for college. What are the things you need to bring? What stores are around campus so you can stock up? Do you need a car to get anywhere? Public transport?! Worse, if you live out of the country, then travelling really becomes an issue; you run the risk of bringing too much! And of course, that will either incur hefty fees, or substantial time lightening and cursing your suitcase.

The mini-blog and the forums of that’s MY COLLEGE can help you out. As it turns out, certain colleges are more convenient than others in terms of preparing. The mini-blog can help you find those questions about pricing, what’s available, and how far you need to be. Don’t forget all the other school-related things you can read/ask too!

Remember applicants, you can now post questions on college profiles. It is easy to connect with college students who have a lot of enthusiasm to help! As the word about tMC spreads, so will its interaction.

TMC is still at its infancy. There is a lot of excitement ahead of us. Stay tuned…

Prospective students - here are some cool features for you.... And we have more coming up

tMC was created to give prospective students a better view of college campuses.

That is why we now offer you the chance to play a more active role in the profiles of colleges your interested in.

Prospective Students - go to the spotlight section of colleges and use it as a tool to ask questions and find answers to your curiosity. Just go there and make a post -- it will show up as a question....

We are currently working to see that you get your answers on tMC either from students of from admissions offices... So take the fist step and share your curiosity... ask questions....

Naturally, to facilitate this process, we are releasing a new feature -either later today or tomorrow- that will allow college representatives to express what questions they would like to answer... so keep your eyes open and keep tMCing...

Confused about where to start?

After nearly a week of launching, we have had a good number of colleges sign on to that's MY COLLEGE (tMC), and I thank you for that. However, I had a chat with one of my friends today, and I realized that because tMC offers something quite different from other websites, I'm sure that some of you have signed on, looked a bit, and think,

"What am I supposed to do now?" Hopefully, this post can clear up some confusion.

One thing that is always challenging is to initiate activity. Since TMC is new, it isn't easy figuring out what to do, and without much activity going on for the first few days, it could even be intimidating. But once the ball gets rolling, it will get easier to post content and thus creates more activity in profiles. Check out Northwestern's profile - it only took two or three posts, but eventually people started understanding what's going on and contributed on their own. And I encourage you, my fellow college student, to do the same.

Let's break down the college profile.

Here is the basic profile of the college. Recently, we have allowed current students to edit the contents of the basic information as well as change the profile picture. It is after all, a little frustrating to see admissions deadlines that are almost 30 years ago, or to see that smiley face each time rather than your esteemed college logo.

Here your college profile can store up to 40 pictures. Upload events, college scenery; whatever it takes to show off your college! Also, if you know of interesting statistics/facts about the school, feel free to showcase it on the Did You Know section. With Recent News and the Spotlight section (see below image), it is a simple click and filling in the fields (there's only three to fill out).

This is the heart of your college profile. The opportunity for students to post information about their colleges in pre-defined categories. Whenever you feel passionate about something about your college, share it with the others and especially the high school students! Or if you are a very busy person, we have made it simple: if an applicant sends you a message, and you are more than willing to answer, you can answer the question and have the ability to post the answer so anybody can benefit.

Indeed, it doesn't take much to be able to make an impact and influence your next wave of admitted students. I apologize for the lengthy post, but hopefully I hope I have cleared up any confusion that might arise. If there are any questions, don't hesitate to comment on this post!

1st day Feedback

Dear All,

I wanted to thank you for all the support that you extended us as we launched tMC today!!!!

The whole experience has been great and as I spoke to student groups and admitted students today, I was happy to see that everyone has taken a liking to the idea.... The only complaint has been the need to register and on this front, I agree its a pain but if you guys don't register, there is no way for us connect prospective to current students through the recommendation engine....

And if your going to forget your password, thats fine too. You can always recover it or even use one of your more common passwords on tMC...

So Viva tMC... get started by registering and making a mini-blog post....

tMC - We are live!

Spread the word - our dream will become a reality!

tMC launches tomorrow - A call to all current students

This dream of tMC is finally ready to launch and from tomorrow onwards we invite you to "be the change that you want to see in the world" in Gandhi's words.

From tomorrow onwards, represent your college and make a difference by contributing and getting your high school on board, thus helping applicants find thier happy homes for 4 years (if you dont see your college represented and would like to have it added, please contact us and we will act on it at the earliest).

Thanks so much for your support thus far. Now is the time to take it to the next level.
